I have been thinking of completely redoing the fern leaf bed. It was made in 2009 and most of the soil has settled and is tired. The organic material decays in time and leaves the rest compacted. I may just add 8 more inches of depth and fill it with new material then till the old and new together. I am knocking upon 76 so a project such as that may just be the ticket to keep me active. The one mature single could produce 6 or 8 new plants if it is divided. There are two regular peonies in the extreme back portion which could be moved and make room for more fern leafs.
