Well, the hail has taken its toll on open blooms and some of the tall stalks. I do have more stalks coming so not a total loss. I agree with you, Donald. I hate hail! It was pea sized at first and I thought I could handle that then the quarter sized started pounding the roof so hard it sounded like giants clog dancing up there. Everything is a little battered and tattered. The ground is covered with tiny white and pink petals from the redbud trees and flowering almond shrubs. Maybe the giants had confetti at their clog competition. Angry

It does not get really cold enough here for the MDB's so I usually shunt their pots, all 45 of them, to the back of the house during the winter where it drops off steeply into a hollow that holds the cold and they get no sun. If we do get snow or ice it lasts there for days. In the summer I put their pots in mostly shade. We get way to hot for them here. They are all going to be repotted after bloom season this year. The SDB's are mostly planted in dappled shade and I have to give them water during a dry spell. Most of the SDB's bloom each year.
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
