I also have a spreadsheet. Iris name, listed alphabetically, date of acquisition and where I got the Iris, Hybridizer and year introduced, brief description including color and type (I only specify those that are SDB's -- the rest are automatically TB's), location in my beds. Across the same line in the spreadsheet is a list of where in my picture files a photo (or two or three or more) of each Iris can be found.

My records aren't as detailed as they could be, but the information that is most important to me is there. And maintaining my spreadsheet doesn't take a huge amount of time -- important to me.
