I looked at some of her listing of cultivars and was pretty impressed with all that she grows. Her prices were quite good as well. It is always the shipping costs that get me. If I can get all the ones I am looking for from one seller, then it is well worth it for me to purchase from a good business. But to pay shipping for the purchase of 1 plant is not a good use of my gardening budget. I have to make my $$'s stretch each year.
I try to be a frugal gardener and have to stick to my budget. I wished I had an unlimited budget or at least a much bigger budget of funds. But until I hit the lotto, I'm pinching pennies here. I have to tell y'all that the best deals I've gotten for daylilies has been from gardeners here on ATP. I have bought a "box full of daylilies" for so cheap in the classifieds, some I only paid for postage, and have even had 1 person send me 2 daylilies for no charge at all. I owe some of these folks BIG time or am planning to pass it forward when I have daylily clumps to be divided.
I do not know of any other daylily gardeners locally. No club. No friends that grow daylilies (I am hoping I can change that!). No daylily nurseries within 300+ miles of me. This forum is it! And when I've been so fortunate to have some of y'all share with me, it is like I have a gardening friend nearby. For me, that is priceless! I really do appreciate the generosity and sharing spirit of folks here! Thank you to each and every one of you for being a gardening friend to me!
