I am going into my third season with this pocket hose: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Poc...
I was worried about the quality because of the plastic? fittings.
I have had no problems with mine, but I am very careful to drain them between uses and store them in the garage. I never leave them out in the sun, and I also don' leave them with closed off garden nozzle closed while the water is turned on, which would build up a lot of pressure. I also don't walk on them or run equipment over them.
I also hook 2 or 3 together when I go across the bride to the far back yard to water, both by hand or hooked up to a rainbird sprinkle.

I love my Pocket Hose.
