The idea that one might grow Orchids under those bright lights is probably the last thing which comes to People's mind!!
Regarding pollination by one of those Wasps or Bees - in nature Phals are surely pollinated by specific Euglossine Bees, not sure if the insect you/Chris saw is the right fit to carry out pollination. But they would certainly not be responsible for producing basal keikis. Perhaps small injuries to the main stem might, if I am guessing.
