Hi Duane,
Welcome to the Hill Country! I've lived here (north of Bulverde) for sixteen years and absolutely love it. Lots of good things: the climate, not many mosquitoes, starry skies, plenty of native wildflowers, etc. Don't bother bringing any impatiens or azaleas or caladiums with you. Smiling But be prepared for a whole new gardening adventure as you learn to deal with white-tail deer, caliche, drought, floods, armadillos....it's all fun. You don't need to keep your bluebonnets in pots; they'll be perfectly happy in the ground. Kerrville's great. You're going to love it! I'm here if you have any questions. Our rivers are the best!
