Dear Bob, thank you for your most kind comments comments. I love doing Articles that although in four parts try to make everyone Happy! People always think of our Country, sorry it has been changed on my microbadge to Region now, for Stonehenge. Stonehenge was only erected in 2500 BC although the blue stones go back to 3000 BC, but in the isle of Lewis the standing stones there which may have been a burial site go back to 5000 BC!
That is a lot older than the Pyramids in Egypt. The oldest still habitat-ed house close to me goes back to 800 BC. So it is a bit of a shock when you go in some of the cemeteries or graveyards as they were called.
As a lot of people try to work out BC from AD, which gets confusing to say the least.
In the UK there were hardly any evergreen trees apart from yew or Taxus baccata so this tree was thought to be magical as it kept its leaves during winter. They were always planted around cemeteries and burial mounds to ward off evil spirits, yet the tree and everything about it is highly poisonous. Some of the yews around burial mounds were thought to be about 2500 years old. But as Yew regenerates itself from the outside that was in fact proven to be not the case. As when deeper core sample were made, they turned out to be 4000 + years old!
Enough of history and I am glad you liked the bonsai's. Keep up your good work with Heucheras and anymore I see I will post them on the site!
Regards form England.
Neil.
