I haven't really gotten much done on the roof garden. The fiberglass guy who they usually use moved to Mexico City last year and I stopped bugging them to find a new one. However, apparently he didn't like it there and has returned to Mérida so now he is supposedly making the earth boxes again. We will see. I got enthused again and went looking for an outside table and umbrella. Found one I like at Home Depot and it was delivered last week. It took my partner and our worker awhile to put it together and of course, there was a part missing so I had to make another trip to HD. The table is all good now although I want to move it to a different space when the worker is here tomorrow.

The umbrella was one of those things I just couldn't resist. It has bluetooth and a little solar panel on the top to run both LED lights and a speaker. I can connect to it wirelessly (bluetooth) with my cell phone and play music!! I had to have it, I'm a sucker for that stuff.

I get the umbrella home and realize that I have no base for it so I had to go back and they are sold separately of course. Got one, got it all set up... went to open the umbrella that night and didn't realize that there was a breeze. It didn't seem too bad until I tried tilting the umbrella which then caught the wind like a sail and I was up there hanging on to it for dear life and trying to yell downstairs for help. That didn't work but eventually I got it down low enough that I could get it straightened out and put away. So... I'm not as excited as I was about this as I don't know if it will ever be still enough on the roof for me to open the darn thing. I guess I'll wait and try again. I did manage to play some music even with it closed but I couldn turn on the lights or get the full effect. Here's a picture from the store of how it is SUPPOSED to look.
