I would plant them and leave them be. let them do their thing. the growing time of year is only just getting started so im sure there will be no problem with them growing a good root system as well as producing flowers. as well, as mix in two cups of alfalfa meal into the soil as you plant them, then add two more cups to the surrounding soil every 6 weeks. you'll see flowers like you've never seen, all the way to first frost!!
