Yes, popsicle sticks should work. Just remember this won't heal. I would also suggest grafting. Just make fresh cuts in both sections, a 45 degree angle is preferable, and then do the popsicle stick and tape routine, matching up the two sections as best as you can. This is an excellent time of year to graft.
