Since we are on a discussion about foliage, I am hoping @sooby reads this post. I am seeing yellow leaves on most of my registered cultivars including my rust resistant daylily cultivars.

If it's an all over yellow and only the outer pair of oldest leaves per fan, it's probably either natural leaf aging or it could be nitrogen deficiency. I don't think it would be aphids because they congregate in the centre. Thrips wouldn't be only the outer leaves either. On foliage thrips cause a silvery spotting and streaking effect. I wouldn't be too worried about yellowing that is confined the the very outermost leaves. If nitrogen deficiency got worse it would start to turn more leaves pale all over (yellowing only between the veins would be something else and it doesn't sound like that's what you're seeing).
