'Whirlwind' is one of my oldest hostas, dating from the late '90s. A few years ago, I divided it to grow one in a different location with different light conditions. It gets morning sun and, in general, has grown faster. Last year, for some reason, my original plant never developed the predominate green veins that help distinguish this variety. It is a sport from 'Fortunei Hyacinthina'. The leaves have outstanding substance and twist as they reach upward. They are white, yellowish and yellow green with a dark green border that varies in width. Prominent green veins. Leaf colour varies with temperature and the age of the plant. In some light conditions this one will green up during the season. Please feel free to share your photos of this hosta.
