I had this happen to me for the first time this year and i have gardened for 40 years. Moles and/or voles helped themselves to 30 crocus tommies. Don't let anyone fool you --- they will eat tommies. They also wiped out a huge clump of crocus Golden Yellow that looked like sunshine when they came into bloom.
