I have finished digging out the spots where 2 trees died over the winter, enlarging them, and adding amendments to the soil to raise the level of the beds, ringing them with rocks from Whitefish, Mt. area, and readying them for iris I ordered and hopeful postage or trades. I also expanded my raspberry patch, doubling its size, and planted it with shoots from the original bed. I now have a strawberry bed to rejuvenate before digging spots for more iris. My digging has taken a couple of weeks since I do not last as long as I used to, but I am still out there, digging and dunging for more flowers.
