Jimard, I'm glad to hear of your trials with your snaps. Those 4 in the pics came from you. I planted yours first. We have had germination weather since march so feel comfortable sowing a second set. I expect those up anytime. Probably around friday as that will be the first sunny day we've had all week due to rain. The nice thing for me with the black prince snaps is that even if I only have 4 come up, It's a nice little tucking plant for me. I can always find a place to put those few. In the event I have more and need a bit more space, I can always find that as well.

I also sowed some Aroma Red Spice Snaps from swallowtail. I have about 15 of those up. But it took a second sowing to get that many. Those will fill one of my whiskey barrels. I still have everything seeding in the ws jugs. I have not emptied them yet. Nor planted out. I think I have one more window where I should have a bit more germination. This weekend we have temps in the low 80s and sun. After this rain, everything should be sprouting like crazy. I have some things that I sowed 2 days ago and already they are sprouting. I believe someone from here gave me some bellis perennis and some straw flower. Both of which have been sowed and come up. But they came during the rain even though they were under cover with access to the rain as well. Just not enough to be drowned this year. That part has been nice.

I was tickled to see your brussel sprout. It looks exactly the same as my ws'd broccoli from dnd. Same size and everything. I'm not sure if that is good or bad. I'll let you decide, lol.

As far as the basil is concerned. Trust me, it's going to be a deep purple. It's just taking it's time. Of course, keep in mind it is mottled right now due to dirt. Or should I say mud. That bed gets drowned when it rains. Then an hour or so later, all the water will have drained. I have planted it where I did my reg basil last year. That basil got 3 ft tall. I'm not so sure I want this one 3 ft tall, but I want it fluffy, lol. I put it in a great spot.

Dnd, I meant to tell you I love those little peat pot greenhouses. I bought a few of them and planted some things like a few zinnias, nigella and others that I didn't want to be washed away once planted. When we get rain, my gardens will wash away and those are so nice to keep the roots protected and anchored. I also bought a little 12 plug one and germinated some gazanias in them this week. Pretty handy since I didn't need alot of the gazania and they need darkness to germinate. Not alot got wasted. I've been pleased with them.
