@Greene. I heard from Rick Corey on another spot, and he suggested French draining it. I may consider just turning the bed back into a lawn and getting some raised beds done...alternatively, maybe I'll go ahead and plant it to see what happens. Ack! Decisions, decisions. I hadn't thought about the "bathtub" effect...I thought having 12" of good soil would give it enough room to drain since we don't often have much water. Hmmmm.....
