I don't know what it is but it may have died if there are no leaves and it didn't bloom. An easy way to tell is to scratch a branch with your fingernail or something else with an edge that will lift a little "skin". If it doesn't scratch or is brown underneath, its dead. If it green underneath, it alive and taking it time.
