Well you are in luck because I live about 30 miles from Tom Burseen and have collected quite a few from him over the years. I got many from him in the early 90's, then I got tired of going to meetings and dropped out of the Fort Worth Society. I still have many of those early ones of his and my favorite is Beat the Heat because of it's vigor and never failing to bloom for me even in the mildest of winters. I kept selling it and giving starts away because I liked it so much. So my clump is not as big as it could have been. I will post first pictures of it as it bloomed this year, then a clump from 2008 when it really showed off. When you open up my back door it is all I see for awhile because it is so showy.
Beat the Heat
Beat the Heat clump from 2008, right in the middle of the clump you can see "Altered States" another I got from Tom at the same time.
Altered States
Coalignition, another one from the early 90's
Baditude does have attitude.
Awesome Alex is indeed awesome.
And then there is Fluff Stuff, very tall but soft looking. Another one from the early 90's.
Then during the convention of 1993 I picked out a seedling in his patch and told him to name it after me and he surprised me and did. What a sweetheart he is.
Dorothy Parker
More to come, not all from this year but.........it was a mild winter here and not a lot bloomed.
