lucky you!
I thought I kept a great journal of all my incoming plants. Some I buy in bloom, but most not. When this bloomed,
I did not recognize the flower, so I went to my journal of my old collection and eliminated all the plants I had sold or given away when I went sailing. That left about 100 plants. So I took out the ones that came back from Miami WITH their tags...this left about 30 plants. . . and NONE of those 30 names look anything like this flower. So either a plant was mis tagged to begin with ( and that's happened to me before!) or...more likely....I bought 20 plants and only entered 19 into my journal. I sent an email to the 2 growers in Hawaii that I bought most of my plants from. Reid Kawamoto wrote back very quickly that he thought it might be C. Hawaiian variable...a name that rings NO BELLS...H & R orchids have not responded to my email. I put the photo on a Florida Orchid Grower FB page and one of the members thought it might be related to Penny Kudra (sp?)...which is a plant I have coveted...I think Ursula has one with the name 'Spots' on it.
