Here's our Daisy.
She looks sweet doesn't she. She's my dil's baby. She about 4 yrs old and we got her from the local rescue two years ago. Daisy and I have a love/hate relationship (I'm 60% serious). A good case in point.....depending on her mood, if I call her in (at night especially) she'll either come right away or will stop what she's doing, give me 'the look' and then take off into the woods barking as if she had an urgent matter to attend to at just that very second. She could be stretched out on a porch chair but the instant I open the door TO call her she'll take off like a bat out of ....well you know. This scenario we'll play out repeatedly until she decides it's over or I'll leave her out till her mommy comes home. She gets a big kick out of it
, me not so much.
Another scenario....My dil will give her a bath and a few hours later she may come back reeking of something she found in the woods and decided to roll in....why?....because she just had a bath! So in the crate she goes till she gets another bath. She gave me poison ivy the first summer we had her which is why now I only pet her right after she has a bath.....and I've had near numerous heart attacks because she zooms back and forth in front of the car whenever I (or anyone) drives down our big hill driveway and we haven't been able to call her into the house first. But like I said, she's not my doggie.
I do have to admit that I do find some things she does rather adorable (did I say that?). She looks very endearing cuddled up with my 7 yr old granddaughter while they watch movies together and she loves romping in the snow with her.
At those moments she reminds me of my beloved mixed lab who passed away years ago when she was 15 yrs old. My Goldie had impeccable behavior so I guess I'm spoiled and expect all dogs to behave like her. So I can't stay mad at Miss Daisy for long and we'll go on with out honey and vinegar relationship for as long as we're blessed to have her.
