Nice narrow rim on those two eyed ones, Larry. They aren't in my favorite color combinations, but I very much favor narrow rims. Also, if an eyed cultivar has a rim, I want the eye well defined and the rim to match the eye in color (and be narrow), and those two fit the bill.
My first seedling (of the season) bloomed yesterday, sort of, and I'm not going to inflict an image of it on you.
The bloom did not open properly, and now I am left scratching my head wondering if that was due to our cool/cold night, or perhaps too dry of a seedling bed (it is a raised seedling bed on drip irrigation, which gets the drip on Tuesdays and Fridays per drought restrictions), or if it is just the seedling itself. The cross was ARCTIC LACE x BALLERINA ON ICE. (It has been my observation that although BALLERINA is maybe a CMO - at least I read that somewhere - it does not seem to do that well here in that regard. Or maybe that plant also is not getting enough water.)
