My sister grows them in Ovilla tx. She gets morning sun with the humidity. They seem to love the humidity and the storms. As long as they are not tornetal. They can break in the wind so she has them in her c shaped patio. She has quick drain soil. So they don't sit in water.
She has gotten a few bites of snow these last two years so she put them in the garage where it is warm and humid.
I have to bring mine in house for I get lots of snow but hot summers.
