I've marked this thread to "watch". Not that I want to cull any of my iris's but I'm having a hard time finding homes for the ones I have when it's time to thin them out. I'm running out of family and friends that want any more. Two years ago I gave (close to 400 rhizomes) to a local nursery that recently started selling iris. Some were decent size, some were small because many of the iris patches were well beyond time to divide. If I recall, one patch had 66 rhizomes in it. Iris's seem to love the soil here.

I have never shipped any but I'm willing to give it a try. Do most of you just ask for payment to cover the shipping? I'm thinking that is what I'd do especially since it would be my first time. I'd ask for feed back so I could learn what I did right and what/how I could improve.

What month is the best time to dig and ship? I usually dig the end of July up until the end August...would that be a good time to ship for ALL zones? I'm in zone 5a.
