Holly..the weather would be a problem...but I think the outflow would get directed to a wide-ish form that sits right at the edge of the lip... A machine shop could fabricate from aluminum inexpensively ..the shape of a dust pan....return water hose coming through the "handle" then widening ...the returning water from the reservoir would never touch the piano but surely rhe elements would.
