It sure looks like a few flowers were fertilized. After flowering I cut off the bloom stalk leaving a few inches then twist the stub off in a few weeks. You may be able to twist it off now. This is supposed to reduce the time to leaf growth. I'll be planting mine in a week or two so you should be OK to plant out now.
