Regina,
Now that sounds scary...cleaning with a hose next to a pond while it's lightening. The hail storm lasted for twenty minutes and the sun came out. We had high winds, heavy rain and the hail....it was strange how quickly it went through.

I didn't get a chance to check the plants that are planted in the beds, but I'm sure they suffered damage as well. Luckily I had only a few scapes, but I was looking forward to the blooms. Cutting the scapes sounds like a good idea. ..no need to waste energy.
