Very sorry about the hail damage, that is a nightmare for all daylily growers!
I was thinking about the scapes...and it started me wondering if the plants were multi branched or not. If a scape had formed a few buds on the end and they were lost, but the scape had not developed enough for the other branches to be developed and buds formed on them, would there be a chance of that injured scape continuing to develop and form buds and bloom later? I was looking at a daylily yesterday and it appeared to me that the terminal buds had already developed but down further on the scape it looked like three or four more branches were starting to develop, just something to consider.
