This is really getting weird. Today, another huge branch fell off that same tree! There's not much wind today, so it must have been damaged the other night. I understand it when waterlogged cottonwoods just fall over. These are branches up high in the tree, and in one of the trees, it was half the tree where it forked low. It wasn't a weak fork, either. The trunk was solid. Wonder how bad it would have been if the trees had been completely leafed out? I don't see any signs of a lightning hit. We have another cottonwood close to the house that was hit 2 years ago, and we knew exactly when that happened. Bark flew off in every direction.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.
