This is so interesting to read.
I had a embarrassing lapse of memory when I was younger around 1978 nor so. I find wearing slacks as a comfortable and suitable attire for work since no one sees me at the reception desk. We were told that special guests were visiting our building. "Please dress up a little just this once" Ivy. I did as they wished, put on a pretty blouse and skirt and went to work. Lots of compliments followed until I realized in my rush... you guessed it, I only had a brand new slip on but no skirt. I think back and is so grateful that it was not a favorite worn slip. The Daily News had a weekly section of the most embarrassing thing that ever happened. I won second place. I remember it like it was yesterday, I am now sixty six. Had many OOPS or blunders since then. That's life.
