Thanks for the speedy responses porkpal and daisyl! The Clumping bamboo is definitely something different than what I was thinking =) I'm just a little worried the wall will be sparse lower down near the trunk and I'm looking for to cover every inch of this 6ft wall that spans 100 feet!

Also the city code requires it needs to be low water and drought tolerant b/c it is a commercial property
what do you think/have experience with the following:

1. Island Mountain Mahogany (Cercocarpus alnifolius)
2. Arctostaphylos Dr. Hurd
3. Ligustrum japonicum
4. Myrtus communis
