There's a lot to be said for having that head start by potting or placing your bananas and EEs in the crawl space over winter. This is what my little odora looks like now, it came from the middle of the corm, it's not a pup.
I thought that this was Illustris last year, but maybe Black Magic? It spreads by underground runners.
