So I went to Wegman's tonight to pick up chicken and some other things... and I stopped by Lowes "just to see" what was on their clearance shelves. I scored! And I'll share...
I have two fat 12-packs of annual dianthus, mixed colors, $3 each. The plant looks like sweet william by the leaves, but it's blooming at just a couple inches tall. Label just says "Dianthus sp" and "annual."
Also on the $3 rack, some sweet little azaleas in gallon pots. I could be talked out of most of them... bought what looked like the best of the lot, 3 'Fashion', 3 'Pleasant White', 1 'Glacier White'... hmm, I bought 11 but can't remember the others LOL One was something-Marie, a soft pink... maybe 3 of those also and 2 'Glacier White'? That would make 11 LOL. I need one of the pink ones, the others are up for grabs... and if nobody wants them, I'll put them in the tree-line.
Except for 'Fashion', because that one looks coral-pink to me.
SSG, I got you a $3 hanging basket of trailing vinca (annual kind) with magenta flowers... as a basket, it looks a little rough, but the plants look healthy. If you don't want it, I'll find a spot, but I thought of you when I spotted it.
Also, I picked up 2 more Chaenomeles Doubletake Pink Storm (got one for myself earlier). It's a nice variety from the "Proven Winners" line. I have a little one I bought a couple years ago... these are bigger! Looks like a 3 gallon pot, and they are well-branched shrubs.. $18.50.
