Father, I use T-5 HO fixtures in both greenhouses. I only use them in the fall and winter months, simply to augment the natural light. These are so intensely bright (and hot) that I had to continue to move them further and further away until they were no closer than 3' to my plants. I'm growing orchids, not plumeria. The regular T-5 are good light fixtures too though not nearly as powerful as the T-5 HO fixtures. Thus they can be positioned much closer and don't get nearly as hot as the HO. Oh, the T-5 fixtures are probably 1/2 to 1/3 as expensive as the HO fixtures.

I wrote two articles on light and lighting, the first on 1/13/14 and the second on 2/23/15. You might find them interesting and helpful.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
