This same thread has been through a long discussion over on the insect and bug id forum. The info you just provided has already been put forward. That moth's range is East of the Rockies. There have been more photos posted and stem damage from grazing is visible which is a no to Carpenter Bees. Thank you though for your input. At this point I'm waiting to see if there are any ill effects to the lily. I tip my hat to you.
