Keep an eye on it. It may well be alive. I thought mine had died overwinter, but it finally began to put out some growth along the canes. However, the old growth was so lopsided I wanted to cut it all off and start over if I could, so I cut it back to about 2" which left just 4 canes. One of those has not put out any growth, but the remaining three are growing well enough now. That new growth was easily knocked off and that happened 2-3 times getting moved around and finally repotted. The worst time was when it all was bitten back by a frost. I thought at the time it was protected and safe, but the frost got it anyway. Currently it's growing fast. Just hoping it doesn't get hailed on where it would have to start over again.
