Life is "mind over matter". If I d
SS--

I have a question re using the Concrete mixing tub. I DO think it is a great idea.
My Q.
--where do you then put the tub with all the bulbs in it?
--Just on the ground? Like your lawn?
--In a flower bed? where there is access to it being on top of garden soil?
--On a solid surface--like one's deck? WHERE???

I have NEVER EVER grown out my Amaryllis in any kind of soil.
I realize the benefits of it--and I think I need some help this year to make them thrive.
Potting outside may be the answer.

When do you dig them up, to pot up for blooming in the house, (do you???)
AND--assuming that the bulbs have grown a lot of new roots--do yu just
jam all the roots in a pot and bring the Ams. indoors? Or prune the roots?

Mine have all done well in the past few years. I am sure I have shared photos
of them all blooming...especially, how well the 5 bulbs in the big, old, large, pot have done
being that the same bulbs in the same pot were already blooming wonderfully
in 2005.
This was not the first time I root-pruned them.
Their roots DO get straggly and all over the place. Why did mine ot bloom as well this year?

I confess--that I may have not watered them as much as I should.
Same issue with my CC's--and any other plants that spend their winters under my
big LR window. Out of sight------Out of mind....Some of these can be in rock-hard soil
for lack of watering. Then i do--and hope there has been NO damage because of it.
Whistling
Today--I just saw that most of my Streps. were blooming. How could I miss this???
The soil in these pots was also bone dry. As were all my Spider plants in HB's---
my CC's--my Easter Cactus, and anything else on the shelves al throughout the house..

Amazing--that these all survive anyway.--BUT--i am sure the blooming suffers because of it.
HOW can I be so ignorant of MY houseplants??????????????? Thumbs down
HOW can they survive and grow and bloom in spite of this??? Thumbs up

HMMMMMMMM--a good topic for discussion??? G.
