If you could take some pictures of the location you're going to plant, that would be a huge help, too. If you can remove the old overgrown shrubs first and then take the picture, that would be even better.
Be sure to tell us what direction the planting area faces. That's going to make a big difference to what kind of shrubs will grow there.
