Thank you for the compliment Marilyn. Sorry for taking so long to get to this. I've sorta been slammed lately. I'm amazed I remembered about it -- will wonders never cease!

This salvia is incredible!!! The seeds germinate quickly & exuberantly. It grows fast too and in no time at all you will be having beautiful blooms - striking - RED, RED, RED just like the name says - BONFIRE! They readily volunteer. You see the big pot I had them in? When winter killed them I did not plant anything else in there nor did I sow fresh seed. I just let nature take her course and sure enough come spring little seedling began popping up in that pot. These will get quite tall. A couple times during the summer I cut them back hard & they took it like troopers and came back prettier than ever. The spot that pot is in gets brutal sun for about 10 hours per day all summer and with it sitting on the concrete patio it gets hotter than if it were in ground. This salvia doesn't care. It laughs at adversity.
Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, wasps and all manner of pollinators love it. I have never had any pest or diseases on it either.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
