You do have to read the care for the particular plant. For example, my Nepenthese pitcher plants get bright shade, but my VFT, Saracennias, and sundews get all the sun they want (along with their regular watering or whatever rain fall they get). I have already read that some people do grow their Nepenthese in sun all day long, but they live in an area where the summer temperatures are milder. I don't have enough plants yet to try it here in Texas but soon as I do, I will also see if they can grow better from having more sun.
