How's that Bougainvillea doing? Did the green stems ever try to start new growth? Here's a photo of mine that looked dead. A little bit had rotted because the soil in the container refused to dry out. I thought it had all died and discovered they looked green if you scratched the surface. Then they started growth. I cut it back hard - down to 2" - because the canes grew in only one direction. I managed to keep knocking off the growth and it got taken down by frost once, but here it is today. It is enjoying the weather we've been having. Don't know if it will attempt to bloom or not with all the mistreatment.

Sadly - I don't think it made it. Likely cause I had it in the garage over winter. But it did not get terribly cold cause we had a very mild winter. The 2 that were indoors are fine.

Sigh. Even worse - I killed our 30 + year old Jasmine. Apparently I over watered it Grumbling
