You live in the banana belt of Alaska! It could be warmer at your house than it is at mine in Reno. The difference is that you will get a lot more rain. Some of my favorites are Bell Flowers, coral bells, wood violets and penstemons. Look for Alpine plants that don't mind getting wet. Marsh marigolds come to mind. Sundews.
