That's just what I was going to suggest... dried montmorrency cherries did the trick for DH (or at least they don't hurt; and he loves them)

I drink tonic water for the quinine as well.

It does seem to me that a gin & tonic would be a nice accompaniment to fried green tomatoes! (she said, in a desperate attempt to wrench herself back to the original topic)
