It may really like the heat and humidity, or it may hate it, dependent on your area. I'd go ahead and plant away and see what happens (relatively small area). If the grass is reluctant to grow there, try something else or perhaps put some decorative rock under the vent. Experiment. And welcome to NGA! Hope you enjoy the site.
