What a great idea. I am going to try it.

I agree on microwaving plastics. I only use pyrex in the microwave - no plastic of any kind - ever. Besides, my freezer is usually kind of full...

I am going to try this and store the extra in a glass jar in the fridge. I already do this with leftover standard concentrate nectar.

The concentrated nectar made in a 1:1 ratio should keep longer because it has a higher brix level. Foods with high sugar levels and low percentages of water keep longer. That is the science behind the tradition of drying foods and preserving them with sugar i.e. in jelly/jam. That is also why food companies use so much corn syrup and sugar in canned foods.

I don't need a months worth of concentrate - just enough for a couple of days.

I filter my drinking water. I use the filtered water for my pet (the loveable Winston the pug), watering indoor plants and feeding hummingbirds. I am surprised how many people drink filtered or bottled water yet give their pets tap water.
