So very sorry about your losses, Arlyn! Wow! I can't imagine losing all of those. I'd be in tears. Maybe you bit off more than you could plant?? I only plant Wister or Dykes winners or (lately) those recommended in Kelly Norris' "A Guide to Bearded Irises". My iris garden had a spectacular May here in SE Colorado. I used quite a bit of Schreiner's iris fertilizer and irrigated deeply once a week. Don't know if this had anything to do with it. I have a couple that came up, but didn't bloom, due to being overrun by 'Fogbound' and 'Mesmerizer', among others. I don't have much room for irises, so I choose only the best ones that have been proven. I thought I had lost 'Queen's Circle', but she came back and bloomed beautifully this year. She's a bit picky, I think, but is one of my favorites.
Here she is, HRM 'Queen's Circle'
That's 'Mesmerizer' in the front left of the iris bed.
She's quite a show-off. Isn't she gorgeous!
My 'Fogbound' about took over everything. Have you given it a try??
