I don't know how to get a picture from the database here, but this is a beauty with the iris and salvia.
Rosie, I grow a good many of the shorter dianthus, pinks, and they do have a long bloom time and the clump grows and is evergreen. I cut mine back and they rebloom throughout the summer and fall. I use mine for edging my beds.
