Rosie, I have Columbines but I have them blooming more in a shade environment than my sun beds .I have never heard of Angelonia until walking through a nursery this spring. Look likes snapdragons. I would consider annuals or perennials as long I have color.I had my one and only dianthus bloom this spring, it's in the middle of a daffodil patch! I'll go give it a haircut and see if it wants to rebellion. Daffodil foliage taking an extremely long time to brown.
Missy I have pondered lavender, especially if it blooms all summer.

This is what I have. Usual spring bulb show. Bought annuals giving color after everything fades out. Beautiful tall red analysis bloomed and lasted for weeks. Nothing going on in the green bed. Johnson's blue geranium sorta slow then it grows and is blue and grows and is beautiful. The daylilies(over 400) are blooming and the lilies are getting taller an taller. Many buds. Self seeded Cleome growing tall and flowering. Bronze fennel causes much pointing as folks drive by. I have zinnia, newly seeded cosmos blooming, so things are coming together. Phlox will start soon. I think I want a few roses but they take up so much space.
Keep telling me what works for you. I'm interested!
