Meant to tree mail you, Chris. You should watch the Martin Motes video on Growing orchids in Florida. It's' located at the top of the Orchid forum menu. Even though it's aimed specifically at Florida growing, a lot of the information is generally applicable. Your climate right now is pretty close to ours, except a bit hotter and drier.
Dr. Motes is the guy I got all that info about watering and fertilizing from that I passed along to you. (well, not directly but from his books)
