My ivory halo dogwood is full grown at 6ft tall and wide. It was here when we bought our house. If I trim it down to 1ft in late winter/early spring will it get back to full grown during the same season? It's been cut back before by previous owners. I can see the old dead stems by the ground. It's currently a little thin on one side and looks like it never filled back in all the way? Help
